About 50 people attended a superintendent search forum during West Valley’s Sept. 22, 2026, board meeting at the high school auditorium, according to the district’s signed minutes. Students, parents, staff and community members offered input on the experience, leadership skills and personal qualities they wanted in the next superintendent.

Northwest Leadership Associates consultants led the discussion. The minutes describe plans for an additional online survey and for using community feedback to develop a recruiting brochure. At that meeting, the board’s review of the draft brochure was planned for Oct. 27; the minutes do not report a superintendent selection.

The board voted 5-0 to approve a consent agenda that included Sept. 8 meeting minutes, General Fund, Capital Projects Fund and ASB Fund vouchers, financial reports, employment contracts and other personnel actions. The minutes list voucher numbers but no payment totals. Approval of the Sept. 8 minutes was a separate matter from the signed Sept. 22 record summarized here.

In another 5-0 vote, the board approved travel requests for early-childhood and language-development training, a DECA leadership conference and the state cross-country championship. Administrative, enrollment, safety and other reports were included in the board packet, but the minutes do not summarize their findings.
